Facial & Brow Surgery

Many oculoplastic surgeons also perform aesthetic and reconstructive procedures of the brow and face. These procedures address brow ptosis (low brow), forehead lines, midface descent, and facial aging — often in conjunction with eyelid surgery.

Brow Lift

A brow lift elevates a descended brow to its natural resting position above the orbital rim. Techniques include the endoscopic brow lift (small incisions behind the hairline), the direct brow lift (incision just above the brow), and the coronal brow lift (incision across the scalp). Brow position is closely related to upper eyelid appearance — a low brow can mimic or worsen eyelid ptosis and skin excess.

Facelift Procedures

Facelift procedures (rhytidectomy) address sagging of the lower face and neck. The midface or cheek lift specifically targets descent of the malar fat pad, which contributes to deep nasolabial folds and a tired appearance. Some oculoplastic surgeons perform full facelifts; many specialize in the periocular and midface region.

Combination with Eyelid Surgery

Brow and eyelid surgery are frequently performed together to restore the natural relationship between the brow, upper eyelid platform, and lower eyelid. Addressing the brow before upper blepharoplasty avoids over-correction and ensures the best functional and aesthetic outcome.
